Make Wallpaper Engine open on startup
- Open Wallpaper Engine settings.
- Go to the General tab.
- Enable automatic startup.
- Try normal priority first; high priority uses a Windows service and may be more likely to trigger antivirus interference.
Turn off automatic startup
- Open Settings → General.
- Disable automatic startup.
- If it still starts, check that you did not separately add it to Windows Startup Apps or the Startup folder.
Pause, stop, or quit
Pause or Stop playback
Use application playback rules when you only want wallpapers inactive during games, fullscreen apps, or work.
Quit completely
Right-click the Wallpaper Engine tray icon and choose Quit.
Before changing 32/64-bit mode
Official support recommends quitting the current instance first, then launching the desired version through Steam.
